A Saturday Walk

The Bosque is drained of bright colors, except of course for the always bright blue sky, but the tawny-brown-gray is quite calming and pleasant on a warm November Saturday. I took pictures anyway because without them I wouldn’t have really walked…

INERTIA

MISCELLANEOUS BLOGS PHOTOS, SUMMER 2013 051

Tuesday morning I took a medium-brisk walk past monsoon-green lawns, happy flowers, playful ducks and a Rio Grande energized with fresh rainwater. I returned feeling sane and healthy. Then I chastised myself for being guilty of the 8th deadly sin—inertia. Otherwise more of my mornings would be just like Tuesday, wouldn’t they?

The first seven deadly sins are bad enough (wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony) but I’m past the age of temptation. Inertia though—that is a problem. I study synonyms—inactivity, apathy, torpor, lethargy and indolence—they’re not me! So prove it tomorrow morning.

My camera is teasing me.

My camera is teasing me.

“About Me” and Blue Trees of the Rio Grande

 NORTH FOURTH APRIL 13 124

On my morning walk, I saw Blue Trees…a special variety found only in New Mexico which is one of the reasons I am learning to love my state all over again.
