TODAY and the doll and going visiting is what it’s all about…a happy budding existentialist.

Blogging is not for the faint of heart. To make it an important part of one’s life requires a serious desire to be a writer, photographer or perhaps both; a serious will to post on a daily basis and a seriously bountiful imagination to think of topics that won’t bore every single person you know. Also a blog must have a clear reason for existing; I started out with a specific idea in mind for TODAY X 365 which was to make a small story about my daily existence. Nothing so exciting but some things of general interest (books, New Mexico, becoming a semi-foodie) and other subjects more personal (family and friends).

This blog will become the perfect example of existential blogging. I consider myself an existentialist. Someone who believes that “…each individual—not society or religion—is solely responsible for giving meaning to life and living it passionately and [authentically].” (From Kierkegaard by way of Wikipedia) We existentialists accept responsibility for our days, for the value or waste thereof. Which leads to TODAY X 365 and making sure there is something of meaning on which to report each day. Not too big, not too small, an action or experience just right for the moment. And if possible something that photographs well!
